What clients say.
-
Blake & Kenny acted for our family throughout a difficult probate matter. Calm, prepared, and consistently honest with us about what to expect.
-
Edward handled a complex CPO matter for our Local Authority over three years. We never once felt managed by anyone other than him.
-
I returned to Blake & Kenny for the sale of my late mother's house twenty-five years after they had handled her purchase. Same firm, same care.
Common questions.
-
How are fees structured?
Fees are agreed in writing at the outset, under section 150 of the Legal Services Regulation Act 2015. In contentious business, a solicitor may not calculate fees as a percentage of any award or settlement (section 149 of that Act). We discuss the structure at your initial consultation.
-
Do you work outside Galway?
We act for clients across the West, Connacht, and on national mandates for Local Authorities and semi-state bodies. Most matters are conducted from our Saint Francis Street office; we travel for relevant hearings.
-
How long will my matter take?
It depends on the nature of the work. Conveyancing typically completes within eight to twelve weeks; probate within six to twelve months. Contentious matters vary widely. We give you an honest timeline at the initial consultation.
-
Can I meet the partner who will handle my matter?
Yes. Every initial consultation is with the partner who would conduct the file. If a different solicitor is more appropriate for the work, we tell you at the first meeting.
